Xbox Releases New Controller Made From Recycled Materials
Microsoft has revealed a new Xbox controller called the “Remix Special Edition,” which is partly made of recycled plastic. In celebration of Earth Day, the company has used “post-consumer recycled resins with regrind consisting of previously molded colored parts” to create the new controller. Old Xbox One controller parts, as well as reclaimed materials like plastic water jugs, CDs, and automotive headlight covers, were also used. This not only has an environmental impact, but also gives each controller a unique design due to the different colors and particles used in the grinding process. The controller comes with Microsoft’s Xbox Rechargeable Battery Pack, which eliminates the need for disposable batteries. However, it is worth noting that only 33% of the controller is made of recycled plastic, and most recycled plastic products only use a small amount. The “Remix Special Edition” will be available for $85 starting on April 18.
