Trailer for First Crayon Shin-chan 3D CG Anime Movie Unveils August 4 Premiere Date
The first 3D CG anime film in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise, Shin Jigen! Crayon Shin-chan The Movie Chōnōryoku Dai Kessen: Tobetobe Temakizushi (New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie Super-Powered Climactic Battle: Soaring Hand-Rolled Sushi), has unveiled a trailer and teaser visual on its official Twitter account.
The film’s trailer showcases footage from the original pilot film, previews the story where the titular kindergartener Shin-chan gains superpowers, and announces the August 4 release date. The teaser visual carries the tagline, “Saying stuff like ‘There’s no future for this country’ … that’s a myth of grown-ups.”
The movie is the 31st installment in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise and has been in the making for seven years since the planning stages. The film’s director, Hitoshi Ōne (known for his work on Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom? Screenplay, and directing live-action Akihabara @ DEEP and Bakuman. Adaptations) is also writing the screenplay. Shirogumi Inc. is responsible for the film’s animation.
The previous movie in the franchise, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden, which was the 30th film, premiered in Japan in April 2022 and debuted at #2 in its first weekend.
