Tom Hiddleston & Mark Hamill Join Forces for Stephen King’s ‘Life of Chuck’ Adaptation – Directed by Mike Flanagan
Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill, renowned for their roles as Loki and Luke Skywalker, are set to star in the adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, Life of Chuck is a part of King’s anthology, If It Bleeds, released in 2020. Mike Flanagan, who previously directed Doctor Sleep and The Haunting of Hill House, will helm the project.
The Life of Chuck, featuring three acts in reverse chronological order, explores the various stages of the protagonist’s life, addressing themes like the inevitability of death. This latest adaptation will join the ranks of King’s numerous film and television projects, sharing similarities with Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption.
The script was adapted before the onset of the writer’s strike, with Hiddleston portraying the lead role and Hamill playing Chuck’s grandfather, Albie. Both actors have had a busy schedule, with Hamill working on several Star Wars projects and appearing in What We Do in the Shadows and the upcoming action comedy, The Machine. Hiddleston, on the other hand, continues to captivate audiences as Loki.
A release date for The Life of Chuck has yet to be announced.
