The latest Pokemon anime, Pokemon Horizons, which replaces the long-running Ash and Pikachu-led series, may have introduced a never-before-seen Pokemon in its first episode. According to Serebii.net, Liko and Sprigatito encounter a small turtle-like Pokemon that appears to be partially made of diamonds or crystals, and has never been seen before. The introduction of this new Pokemon is reminiscent of Ash’s encounter with Ho-Oh in the original anime. It is uncertain who this turtle Pokemon is, but there are clues that suggest we may find out soon thanks to the upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The new Pokemon bears a resemblance to Terapagos, the Legendary Pokemon that will be introduced in The Indigo Disk, which is part two of the DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Terapagos has been alluded to in the Scarlet Book and Violet Book in the game, suggesting that there may be big plans for this Pokemon. It is unclear whether the small turtle shown in the anime is a pre-evolution of Terapagos or a Pokemon linked to it in some other way, or if it is a completely different Pokemon. The Indigo Disk is set for release in Winter 2023, so fans may have to wait until then to find out for sure.
However, the first part of the DLC, The Teal Mask, is set to be released in Fall 2023, taking trainers on a school trip to the land of Kitakami, where they will encounter more than 230 Pokemon previously not found in Scarlet and Violet. In addition, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero and other events will add even more excitement to the world of Pokemon.
