Surprising Revelation: The Elusive ‘One Piece’ from One Piece Anime is Actually a McDonald’s Fried Chicken Sandwich
McDonald’s Japan has teamed up with the Straw Hat crew to bring back the Chicken Tatsuta Burger, and to promote the new campaign, the fast-food chain announced that the ‘One Piece’ has been discovered and it was actually a delicious burger all along. The Chicken Tatsuta Burger, which features Japanese-style deep-fried chicken, is part of a menu that includes four different burgers, such as the Yuzu-scented Chicken Tatsuta Burger, and two versions of the Rice Chicken Tatsuta Yoru Mac®. The Yoru Mac is McDonald’s Japan’s rice burger, which uses rice patties instead of traditional buns.
The prices for the chicken tatsuta burgers range from 420 yen for the standard version to 510 yen for the yuzu Yoru Mac. McDonald’s Japan has also added “shake shake” potato fries with potato butter seasoning, and the McFizz® and McFloat® Natural Yogurt Flavor drinks to the menu.
The campaign starts on April 19 in Japan and features several different lottery prizes. Twitter users can follow the @McDonaldsJapan account and post a comment on one of the campaign tweets with the hashtag #チキンタツタの一味4月19日発売 from April 14 to April 18 for a chance to win a 1,000 yen McDonald’s gift card. On April 18 only, Twitter users can respond to the campaign tweets with the hashtag #タツタは年に一度のお宝よ for another chance to win a 1,000 yen McDonald’s gift card. Similar campaigns with different hashtags will also be hosted on April 19, following Fridays on April 21, April 28, May 5, and May 12, and April 23.
