Studio Trigger anime trailer for soccer game is lit, promises to be an epic experience
Looking to make your upcoming Nintendo Switch sports-action game stand out from the crowd? One good way is to get world-renowned anime house Studio Trigger to create the trailer. That’s exactly what Odyssey Interactive did for their free-to-play online 3v3 soccer game, Omega Strikers. Developed for cross-platform online matches, Omega Strikers features anime-looking athletes competing in matches with a soccer ball that’s often on fire, thanks to unsanctioned weapons and characters that are so anime AF in their designs, some of them aren’t even human.
To sell the hectic energy of its roster of footballers, Odyssey Interactive enlisted the help of animation powerhouse Studio Trigger, the studio behind Kill La Kill and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Studio Trigger’s anime tend to have themes of defiance against some sort of authoritative organization, and animating an opening cinematic about a group of outcasts united by their passion to decimate their opponents just makes sense.
The Omega Strikers trailer is stylish and features Trigger’s signature vibrant animation style. It shows off the game’s quirky and diverse characters, including a slime girl, a gun-wielding lizard man, and a swole gerbil-looking bear dude. These characters, along with the soccer ball that’s frequently on fire, make the game a perfect fit for Trigger’s unique aesthetic.
If you’re excited about Omega Strikers, you’ll be happy to know that it’s slated to release on April 27 and is available for pre-order on the Nintendo Switch, Steam, the App Store, and Google Play. Whether the game will have an arena that lets its madcap group of soccer weirdos duke it out in space, as Trigger is wont to do, remains to be seen. But one thing’s for sure – the stylish trailer created by Studio Trigger is sure to grab the attention of anime and sports fans alike.
It's here.
