Scalpers Rejoice as Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters Sell Out Instantly
The highly anticipated Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are finally here for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 as of April 19. However, fans were disappointed to find out that physical copies of the collection sold out immediately on Square Enix’s website and are currently out of stock. This unfortunate situation has opened up an opportunity for scalpers who are selling the remastered games for inflated prices on eBay.

Although the Pixel Remasters were previously available on Steam, the console ports come with new features and improvements, such as a new font that offers a better in-game text display on PC. The physical versions are highly sought after by collectors, with the standard edition featuring Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, and VI, while the Anniversary edition includes vinyl soundtracks, artbooks, figures, and more for $250. Even though pre-orders were open since last December, the release date for the PS4 and Switch versions was only announced earlier this month, and by launch day, the Standard edition was already sold out on Square Enix’s website. The Anniversary editions are currently waitlisted, with new orders only becoming available if existing ones are canceled.
