Rejoice, League of Legends fans -Riot’s New Fighting Game ‘Project L’ will be Free-to-Play

Riot Games has announced that Project L is a free-to-play 2v2 fighting game where players will choose from a selection of champions from League of Legends.

The next champion to appear in Project L is Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess. She is the sixth of the confirmed League champions together with Ahri, Darius, Ekko, Jinx, and Katarina

Senior director and executive producer Tom Cannon promised the company will be “respectful” of the players’ time and money when talking about monetization.

There is no release date for Project L yet, but they have promised to share development updates by end of 2022.
