Phoebe Waller-Bridge Is All Set To Create, Write & Produce Tomb Raider TV Series For Amazon & Not Act In It
This is great news for all Lara Croft fan – Amazon will soon feature a TV series based on the Tomb Raider video games.
This initiative is taken by none other than Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny) who is reportedly developing this TV series alongside Amazon’s former head of comedy and drama, Ryan Andolina, plus former head of overall deals Amanda Greenblatt.
She has no intent to star in this series instead, she will focus on writing the scripts for the series and also be an executive producer for this series. This will be one of her project with Amazon under her overall deal with the streaming platform. She is also developing and writing an adaptation of the Claudia Lux novel Sign Here, which is a “darkly humorous, surprisingly poignant, and utterly gripping debut novel about a guy who works in Hell and is all set for a big promotion.
Netflix also has an upcoming anime series based on the Tomb Raider world. It will follow Lara Croft’s adventures after the events of the Crystal Dynamics reboot trilogy. It’s written by Tasha Huo and features the voice acting of Allen Maldonado (Heels, The Last OG) as Zip and Hayley Atwell (Peggy from the Captain America movies) as Lara Croft.
If you missing Waller-Bridge on big screen, she will soon appear in Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny as the whip-cracking adventurer’s Indy’s goddaughter Helena. The first full trailer for the movie was released in December. The movie will be in theaters starting June 30, 2023.
