Xbox Launches “Project Amplify” a Video Series to Support Black Youth Interested in Gaming Industry Careers

Xbox has officially launched Project Amplify, a series featuring 14 Black team members at Xbox aiming to magnify Black voices within Xbox to inspire, educate and motivate youth across the U.S. to aspire towards careers in the gaming industry through real-life storytelling from Black leaders and employees across the Xbox ecosystem.

It’s a great initiative by Xbox as it features Black members of the company in a variety of roles, sharing their experiences in the games industry, and offering advice on how young Black voices can work towards a career in the industry.

Netflix Is Opening New Mobile Game Studio in Helsinki, Finland

Netflix is up to take a huge leap in the world of mobile gaming.

The streaming giant is now preparing to build its own internal gaming studio. This will be Netflix’s second studio in Helsinki, but the first that it’s starting from scratch, after having acquired Next Games earlier this year. This studio will be led by Marko Lastikka, who was previously a general manager at Zynga and EA.

Do note that this is an early step and game development can actually take years so it may be a while before we see actual products out from this new studio.

This is some great news, PlayStation has unveiled a new PS5 bundle. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle which releases next month [October 28] is now available on preorder. This bundle comes with a digital voucher for Modern Warfare 2’s Cross-Gen bundle. Though it’s a long way to go to get PS5, this is a good way to secure a PlayStation 5 just in time for the latest Call of Duty.

Official Teaser Out – The Last of Us Exclusively on HBO Max

The Last of Us, is a series based on the critically acclaimed video game, that is coming to HBO and HBOMax.

The series is written and co-produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Carolyn Strauss will also serve as executive producer, along with Evan Wells from the original game’s developer, Naughty Dog, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.

The series stars Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, and Anna Torv. The series guest stars Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Storm Reid, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, and Elaine Miles.
