Well this is a brief intro of the characters for you, by them, through them. But now the great news is if you are from UK the 120 minute-long episode 1 of HBO’s The Last of Us has been uploaded to the YouTube channel of Sky TV (where the show is available in the UK) for free and will likely soon be uploaded to HBO’s YouTube too. But the rest are still behind subscription services.
The series, based on the popular video game of the same name, follows the journey of a young girl and a hardened survivor as they travel across a post-apocalyptic America. Fans can now watch the first episode without a subscription to HBO, making it accessible to a wider audience. The move to release the episode on YouTube is a part of the network’s efforts to reach a larger audience and engage with fans.
This is not its first as HBO had pulled a similar move in September by uploading the first episode of Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon to YouTube, though that was later removed for those outside of the U.S.
Yesterday, Google published a paper on a new AI model called MusicLM.
The model generates 24 kHz music from rich captions like "A fusion of reggaeton and electronic dance music, with a spacey, otherworldly sound. Induces the experience of being lost in space." pic.twitter.com/XPv0PEQbUh
An impressive new AI system from Google will take the music industry by storm as it can generate music in any genre given just by using a text description. But the company, fearing the risks, has no immediate plans to release it.
This new developed AI is called MusicLM. This AI utilizes a neural network that has been trained on various musical styles, instruments, and structures. The technology generates unique compositions based on the text inputs given to it. Although the AI has shown promising results in its ability to create music, Google has decided not to make it available to the public due to concerns over the potential misuse of the technology.

The Elden Ring community is always finding new ways to impress me! Check out this story I wrote about @perrikaryal playing the game with thier mind!https://t.co/pJf4zw2pxP
A Uk-based streamer Perri has discovered a new way to play the game “Elden Ring” using only their mind. In a series of videos uploaded on TikTok and Instagram accounts, you can witness how they play using a headset that looks similar to what Professor Xavier would wear in the X-Men. The headset they’re wearing is called an Electroencephalogram (EEG). It uses a sensor pad soaked in saline solution to create conductivity on their head that detects electrical activity.
In various TikTok videos you can see them doing very interesting things like cast a series of spells on a couple of NPCs to kill them while backing up to avoid damage and switch weapons. While in another video, you can see them standing far away from their set-up, proving that they’re only playing with their mind.
This takes mind games to a whole new level in the the World of Gaming.
Medics were required on the set of Netflix’s “Squid Game,” a reality show that combines elements of survival & competition in a single show. According to reports, several contestants had to be treated for severe injuries they suffered due to competing in cold temperatures.
Squid Game: The Challenge is set in a remote location, one being an enclosed, former airplane hangar near Bedford, north of London. The contestants were competing in physically demanding challenges while also trying to survive in extreme cold conditions. There were some contestants, who were not from the UK and not used to the cold weather, so they were reportedly given hand warmers and thermal underwear to stay warm during the first day of filming, which began on Monday.
However, it appears that the show’s harsh conditions took a toll on some of the contestants. It was reported that several individuals had a tough time during their first game, Red Light, Green Light, the temperatures were as low as -3C.They even heard someone yell ‘medic’ and the crew would rush on and the rest ended up standing there for 30 minutes between takes. Too many contestants were determined not to move as a lot of money was on the line.
But Netflix has denied that any serious injuries have been caused on the set of the reality show as health & safety of the contestants is of their utmost importance and they have taken all the necessary precautions to ensure the well-being of their cast & crew.
In this game the contestants are divided into teams and they must work together to overcome obstacles and complete tasks, with the ultimate goal of winning a prize of $4.56 million. The competition will feature 456 contestants who will compete in a series of games inspired by the award-winning 2021 Korean drama Squid Game. It will be interesting to see how the contestants handle the challenges that come their way for real in this intense and unique show – Squid Game: The Challenge.
It's funny that here we call this file 'electronic urn', and the process of generating this file 'cremation'.
Sadly, players won't be able to gather in the city and wait for that final moment together like last time, b/c this service will go down with the servers. pic.twitter.com/k04HqDfiMF
It is a real sad news for gamers in China as Blizzard games like World of Warcraft and Overwatch will be unplayable in China for the foreseeable future. This drastic measure has taken place after Activision Blizzard and China’s NetEase Games failed to renew their licensing agreement, so now the Chinese WoW Servers will finally shut down after 14 years.
This is not something that has happened for the first time as in 2009 WoW shut down in the region, for a few months but this time it’s going to be a long wait. The two companies had been partners for 14 years, with Blizzard’s MMORPG having operated in the country for a few years under a separate company prior to Blizzard and NetEase’s partnership.
This news broke out late last year as Activision Blizzard announced that it would not be renewing its contract with NetEase, with game services set to end on January 23. Now the time has finally come, but the WoW players are still hopeful. They are now forced to download nearly two decades worth of character data in the hope that the game’s servers will one day return and their characters can be restored.
But it is still unclear when Blizzard games might return to China due to all the bad blood between Blizzard and NetEase, but in the midst of it all the real victims are the players in China who live and breathe in these worlds followed by the Blizzard developers who have spent all their passion and talent to build these amazing worlds.
Microsoft has reported a drop in Xbox sales and gaming revenue, despite setting new user records in new MAU (monthly active users) for the Xbox platform (a record of 120 million).
Microft has pointed out that, both hardware and content sales lagged for Xbox compared to the same period the previous year, with console revenue down 13% and content and services down 12%. This is in comparison to what they achieved in the previous year. This is due to the declines in first-party content and lower magnetization in third-party content. This was also due to offset of Xbox Game Pass’s continued growth.
The latest consoles by Microsoft, the Xbox Series X, and Series S released in 2020 had initially high demand but in the financial quarter, revenue from console sales dropped 13%, with Microsoft pointing to lower pricing over the holiday period, as well as an overall drop in the number of consoles sold.
This report comes after a major round of layoffs involving 10,000 staff across Microsoft’s various divisions, and makes note of $800 million in severance costs relating to this action. Combined with other costs related to the downsizing, the layoffs cost Microsoft an estimated $1.2 billion.
Post all this, Microsoft is still looking to acquire gaming company Activision Blizzard in a deal worth $68.7 billion, despite facing regulatory hurdles and antitrust concerns.
