Release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Pushed Back to February 2024, Officially Confirmed

Rocksteady Studios has announced that its highly anticipated video game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has been delayed yet again. The game will now release on February 2, 2024, several months after its previous release date of May 26, 2023.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the developer explained that it has decided to delay the game in order to ensure that it delivers the best possible gaming experience. “We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players,” the statement read.

The delay marks the second time that the game’s release has been pushed back. Originally slated for a 2022 launch, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was later rescheduled for Spring 2023 before being pushed back to February 2024.

The delay follows criticism of the game’s live-service elements, which were revealed during a PlayStation State of Play event in February 2023. Fans expressed concerns over the game’s battle pass system and the requirement for an internet connection, even in solo play. It is currently unclear whether the delay will result in any significant changes to the game’s controversial features.

Despite the delays, Rocksteady Studios expressed gratitude to its fans for their continued support. “Thank you to our amazing community for the continued support, patience, and understanding,” the statement read. “There is much more to share in the months ahead and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year.”

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have players take control of one of four supervillains – Deadshot, Harley Quinn, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang – as they attempt to thwart Brainiac’s invasion of Metropolis. The game is set to be the first major release from Rocksteady Studios since the 2015 launch of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Zachary Gordon replaces Tighnari in Genshin Impact’s cast

The official Twitter account of Genshin Impact video game recently announced that they have replaced the voice actor of the character Tighnari with Zachary Gordon. This decision was made after Elliot Gindi, who was originally cast for the role, breached his contract. The breach was related to allegations of sexual misconduct against Gindi, as reported by a former moderator of his Twitch and Discord accounts. The moderator shared a document containing alleged screenshots of Gindi’s interactions with several fans, some of whom were reportedly underage at the time. Gindi acknowledged the authenticity of the screenshots in a TwitLonger post but denied being aware of the ages of his partners. Over 50 voice actors from Genshin Impact publicly condemned Gindi’s alleged behavior. Zachary Gordon, who has previously lent his voice to characters like Hayner in Kingdom Hearts III and Kotaro in the Afro Samurai: Resurrection anime film, has now taken over the role of Tighnari.

“Super Mario Bros.” makes history as the first game score to be added to the U.S. National Recording Registry

The iconic theme song of the Super Mario Bros. video game series has made history once again as it was inducted into the U.S. National Recording Registry on Wednesday, marking the first-ever video game theme song to be honored with such an accolade. The original tune, commonly known as the “Ground Theme” or “Overworld Theme,” was composed by Koji Kondo for the 1985 Super Mario Bros. game that was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The song was selected among 25 other recordings, including the likes of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.” Queen Latifah also made history as the first female rapper to be inducted. “The National Recording Registry preserves our history through recorded sound and reflects our nation’s diverse culture,” said Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden in an issued statement. “The national library is proud to help ensure these recordings are preserved for generations to come.”

Kondo, speaking through an interpreter, revealed that he had to be very innovative and make full use of the musical and programming ingenuity available at the time to compose the theme. He used a variety of genres that matched what was happening on screen to create the tune. According to an interview with Electronic Gaming Monthly, Kondo composed the song on a small keyboard while he was a college senior and had just answered a recruiting call from Nintendo.

The iconic track has undergone slight changes depending on the game, system generation, or in-game location, and it was also the basis for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! television series theme.
