Final Fantasy 14 offers Mary Poppins transformation with $24 mount purchase

Final Fantasy XIV Online players have a chance to soar through the skies in style with the newly released “Magical Parasol” mount, now available for purchase in the game’s store. For a price of $24, players can ride on an enchanted umbrella that turns them into Mary Poppins. The parasol is designed with a magical spell to grant flight, allowing players to float across the skies while leaving beautiful blue blossoms in their wake. It’s available in a striking color scheme, too, which will make it hard for players to resist purchasing.

While the promotion doesn’t confirm any direct association with Mary Poppins or Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the similarities between the mount and the magical British nanny’s iconic umbrella are striking. Square Enix does not mention any connection to Disney, but that may be due to the entertainment company’s strict legal policies. The enchanting design is a part of Eorzean lore, with the story revealing that a notable Sharlayan scholar cast a spell on a pitch-black umbrella to give it the gift of flight. With the upcoming major patch for Final Fantasy XIV in May and the release of Final Fantasy XVI on June 22 for PS5, fans of the franchise have much to look forward to.

The deep dive into Final Fantasy XVI revealed in a dedicated State of Play presentation focused on the game’s combat, story, and massive Eikon fights. The latest installment promises to deliver a thrilling adventure for fans of the franchise. While the magical Mary Poppins mount might be costly, it is sure to turn heads and add a touch of whimsy to players’ in-game travels.

Elon Musk Funds Twitter Blue Verification for Select Celebrities

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that he is personally paying for some celebrities to have Twitter Blue subscriptions after the social media platform removed all legacy verified checkmarks on April 20. Anyone who had previously received a blue checkmark for being notable in the public eye would no longer have a special designation on the platform unless they opted to subscribe to Twitter Blue for $8 per month. However, some high-profile celebrities, including NBA star LeBron James, award-winning actor William Shatner, and legendary author Stephen King, managed to retain their prized blue checkmarks without subscribing to Twitter Blue.

Musk confirmed on Twitter that he is “paying for a few personally” and told King “You’re welcome namaste” after the author refuted Twitter’s claim that he had subscribed and verified his phone number. While a few celebrities have been able to keep their blue checkmarks without subscribing to Twitter Blue, the majority of legacy checkmarks have been removed, making it easier for people to impersonate notable public figures. This has led to Twitter suspending all accounts engaging in this behavior and temporarily suspending the Twitter Blue program in the past.

Scalpers Rejoice as Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters Sell Out Instantly

The highly anticipated Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are finally here for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 as of April 19. However, fans were disappointed to find out that physical copies of the collection sold out immediately on Square Enix’s website and are currently out of stock. Although the Pixel Remasters were previously available on Steam, the console ports come with new features and improvements, such as a new font that offers a better in-game text display on PC. The physical versions are highly sought after by collectors, with the standard edition featuring Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, and VI, while the Anniversary edition includes vinyl soundtracks, artbooks, figures, and more for $250. Even though pre-orders were open since last December, the release date for the PS4 and Switch versions was only announced earlier this month, and by launch day, the Standard edition was already sold out on Square Enix’s website. The Anniversary editions are currently waitlisted, with new orders only becoming available if existing ones are canceled.

Latest update for Horizon Forbidden West introduces features to assist players with thalassophobia (fear of deep water)

On April 19, Guerrilla Games released Patch 1.21 for the PS5-exclusive game, Horizon Forbidden West. The update introduces support for the Burning Shores expansion, which launched on the same day. Additionally, the update brings in new accessibility features, including a thalassophobia mode. Thalassophobia is the fear of deep bodies of water, such as oceans or large lakes. Ryan Reynolds gives fans a taste of X-Force in Deadpool 3, and promises Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be “totally different”

Ryan Reynolds has been teasing fans with information about the highly anticipated Deadpool 3 movie. In an interview with ET Canada, Reynolds discussed his excitement about working with Hugh Jackman, who will be reprising his role as Wolverine in the film. Reynolds teased that the version of Wolverine in the movie will be “something completely new to play” and that they have been wanting to work together for a decade. Reynolds explained that he had been persistent in trying to convince Jackman to sign on to the project and that timing was finally right. He also teased that the version of Wolverine in the movie will be different from the character that Jackman previously portrayed.

Jackman previously talked about the Wolverine character in the film, describing his return as a “dual role”, and Reynolds teased a plot that would have involved a road trip between Deadpool and Wolverine with a Rashomon-style story before Disney bought Fox. It will be interesting to see how the two characters will interact with each other since Wolverine hates Deadpool. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the film to see what Reynolds, Jackman, and the rest of the team have in store for them.
