Nick Fury Is Back in Secret Invasion Trailer, Ready for ‘One Last Fight’ Against the Skrulls
Marvel has just released a new trailer for its upcoming series, Secret Invasion, which promises to bring Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury back to Earth for one last battle against a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who are attempting to invade and conquer the planet. The series is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 21, 2023, and a new synopsis for the show gives fans more insight into what to expect from this exciting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The synopsis reveals that Fury has learned of the Skrull invasion and is teaming up with Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has been living on Earth, to stop the imminent threat and save humanity. The trailer introduces a number of interesting plot points and characters, including Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos, who warns Fury that things have gotten much worse since he’s been away in space, and Emilia Clarke’s G’iah, Talos’ daughter, who is a Skrull refugee and seems to have some issues with Fury.
The trailer also addresses the absence of the Avengers, with Fury stating that he has to fight this war alone. Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes makes an appearance as War Machine, but it seems Fury will be primarily on his own in this battle. The trailer is accompanied by a striking poster that features cut images of Nick Fury and a Skrull, layered on top of each other like two cut pieces of paper.
Overall, the Secret Invasion trailer promises an action-packed, suspenseful addition to the MCU, with plenty of surprises and unexpected twists to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
