New Gran Turismo Movie Trailer showcases David Harbour’s Gamer Boot Camp: A Must-See for Gaming Fans!
Sony showcased a trailer for its upcoming movie “Gran Turismo” at CinemaCon, featuring stars Orlando Bloom and David Harbour. Harbour, who plays the racing drill sergeant for gamers at a racing boot camp, initially struggled to comprehend how a racing game with no story could be adapted into a movie. However, the movie tells the inspiring true story of a teenager who made the transition from Gran Turismo gamer to real-life professional racer.
The trailer introduces viewers to Jann, a British teenager played by Archie Madekwe, who is selected to participate in the GT Academy, a skills competition hosted by Nissan. Under the guidance of Harbour’s character, the gamers are trained to translate their digital racing skills to real-life cars. Jann emerges as the winner and rises through the ranks to become a Nissan driver, but real racing presents challenges he never faced in the virtual world.
Harbour’s character warns Jann that racing in the real world is a whole new ballgame, and one mistake could be deadly. The trailer also shows Jann struggling to earn the respect of his fellow Nissan drivers, who look down on him for his gamer origins.
The Gran Turismo movie is expected to hit theaters later this year, although a release date has not been announced. Sony’s video game adaptations have been successful in the past, and this inspiring story of a gamer-turned-racer is sure to resonate with both gaming and racing fans alike.
