Netflix Finally Reveals Its Star for The Live-Action Manga Adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho

Netflix has found Yusuke Urameshi, the main character for their live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series in Tokyo Revengers’ star Takumi Kitamura. He is the only cast announced so far.

It’s confirmed that Sho Tsukikawa will be directing alongside Kazutaka Sakamoto (Aggretsuko, Devilman Crybaby) as executive producer and Teru Morii as producer.

Netflix announced the adaptation last year, which will feature a remake of the 1990 Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga in which a teenager, Yusuke, dies and begins a new life in the afterlife as an underworld detective.

The live-action adaptation from Netflix is scheduled to be released in December 2023.
