Mark Hamill and Bert Kreischer face off against the Russian mafia in the trailer for “The Machine”
Sony Pictures has unveiled a new red band trailer for the upcoming film The Machine, based on comedian Bert Kreischer’s real-life experience of getting involved with the Russian mafia.
The movie is set 23 years after the viral story that made Kreischer famous, with an older Kreischer, played by himself, and his father, played by Mark Hamill, getting kidnapped by the Russian mob and taken back to Russia to pay for their crimes.
The official synopsis states that the father and son must navigate a crime family war while trying to find common ground.
The film is directed by Peter Atencio, known for his work on Keanu, starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. The Machine has been ready for release for some time, but was held back by Sony Pictures due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
