Gran Turismo 7 Is Now Available For PS5 Players To Enjoy In Virtual Reality
Polyphony Digital has recently announced a new update for Gran Turismo 7, bringing exciting content to the racing game. The 1.29 update includes a virtual reality (VR) mode for PlayStation 5 players, new game modes, additional cars, and more.
According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, PS5 players with a PS VR2 headset can now access the VR Showroom from their in-game garage or car dealership. The VR mode features HDR tone mapping and an eye-tracking feature that renders areas of the screen where the player is looking. Additionally, dynamic 3D audio is supported to provide an immersive experience.
The update also introduces a new limited-time mode called Sophy Race Together, exclusive to PS5 users. Available from February 21 to the end of March, players will race against the GT Sophy in a series of four circuits. There’s also a 1VS1 mode, where players race against the AI in another GT Sophy with the same stats.
The Grand Valley returns to the series with an updated look, and Highway 1 now features high-speed sections with tight corners. A 2000M South layout with even harsher environments has also been added.
The update also introduces five new drivable cars, including the Honda RA272 ’65, Italdesign Exeneo Vision Gran Turismo Street, and Off-Road Mode, Citroën DS 21 Pallas ’70, and Porsche 911 Carrera RS (901)’ ’73.
Lastly, the Drift Stage and Move The Camera Up And Down features have been added, along with support for drift photos and a tutorial to guide players on how to take drift photos.
