Funko Pop figurines have been a popular collector’s item over the last decade, with the company securing deals with major IP holders to create figures based on various movies, TV shows, comics, and video games. The upcoming Funko Fusion video game will mix together characters from these different properties, creating a pop-culture mishmash that is sure to excite fans.
The new trailer for Funko Fusion shows a strange mix of characters and themes, including a gory scene from The Thing and Back to the Future characters having family-friendly fun. While the mishmash of IP may not make sense thematically, it does provide a fun and unique gameplay experience.
Arthur Parsons, the game’s design director, expressed his excitement in a press release about the team’s ability to showcase what they have been working on. He also mentioned how the studio was “entrusted” by Universal to harness their various properties and present them through a “Funko lens.”
Funko Fusion is the first game from 10:10 Games, and it seems to be following in the footsteps of the popular Lego games with its colorful and action-packed gameplay. The release date for the game is not yet set, but it is expected to be released in 2024. Funko Fusion will be available on PC, and there is no confirmation yet if it will be available on consoles.
