Blumhouse Brings James McAvoy To Lead In The Upcoming Horror Thriller Remake, Speak No Evil
James McAvoy has been announced as the lead actor in a new Blumhouse horror thriller called Speak No Evil, which is a remake of a Danish movie that was released in 2022. The film will be directed by James Watkins, who also wrote the script. The original movie follows a Danish family who become friends with a Dutch family while on vacation in Toscana. However, when the Danish family receives an unexpected invitation months later, things quickly turn dark and unpleasant. The plot of the remake is expected to be similar, although it will likely be set in an American location.
McAvoy, who has been keeping busy with various projects, is sure to bring his acting chops to this movie. He recently starred in the final season of HBO’s His Dark Materials, appeared in the French thriller My Son, and starred in BBC Two’s Together alongside Sharon Horgan. He is also lending his voice to the character of Dream in Audible Original’s The Sandman podcast series.
The remake of Speak No Evil is scheduled for release by Universal Pictures on August 9th, 2024. With McAvoy on board and the talented Watkins at the helm, fans of horror movies can look forward to an exciting and chilling cinematic experience.
