Trillion Game Live-Action Series: Star-Studded Cast Unveiled for July Premiere
TBS announced the cast, visuals, and July premiere for the live-action series adaptation of Riichirou Inagaki and Ryoichi Ikegami’s popular Trillion Game manga. Ren Meguro from the idol group Snow Man will portray the lead character, Haru Tennōji, while Hayato Sano will play Manabu “Gaku” Taira. The highly anticipated series is set to air on TBS and its affiliate channels in July.
The Trillion Game manga follows the story of two men, Haru and Gaku, who devise a plan to earn a trillion dollars to fulfill all their desires. Haru is a charismatic and confident speaker, whereas Gaku is a skilled programmer with a shy demeanor. The duo, who were once middle school classmates, reunite after Gaku’s job application to a bank is rejected.
Inagaki and Ikegami launched the manga in Big Comic Superior in December 2020, with Shogakukan publishing the sixth volume on March 30. Inagaki is known for his work on Eyeshield 21, which was adapted into a TV anime and an anime film. He also co-created the Dr. Stone manga with artist Boichi, which inspired a successful television anime series. Ikegami and Buronson collaborated on the BEGIN manga, which ran in Big Comic Superior from October 2016 to January 2020.
