Xbox Responds to User Complaints and Revamps Cluttered Home Dashboard
Microsoft has announced that it will be making changes to the Xbox Home dashboard after receiving complaints from the community about its cluttered appearance. In September 2022, Microsoft invited Xbox Insiders to participate in a “multi-month series of experiments” aimed at creating a more personalized home screen experience.
However, the changes were not well received by users, who found the new UI too crowded and obstructive to their chosen backgrounds. As a result, Microsoft has paused the experiments and pledged to work on creating a better balance between the interface and backgrounds.
In a blog post, the company stated that it will “balance the experience, accessibility, function, and the needs of our community and bring you a great and refreshed Home experience.” As part of the process, Alpha and Alpha-Skip Xbox Insiders will be reverted back to the original Xbox Home experience they were using, with their previous settings and backgrounds restored. The “new Home” settings will be saved for future use.
Ivy Krislov, Senior Product Manager Lead of Xbox Experiences, expressed gratitude for the feedback received and assured the community that the team is working hard to incorporate it into the experience. The company is excited to share further details with the community soon.
