Avatar: The Way of Water Is Now The Fourth-Highest-Grossing Film of All Time Making $2.075 Billion Globally
The Avatar sequel continues to make huge waves and dominate the box office since its release on 16 December 2022 and now holds the title for the fourth highest-grossing film of all-time.
It has reportedly surpassed Star Wars: The Force Awakens massive $2.071 Billion box office total from 2015 and made $2.075 Billion globally. This feat arrives on the heels of becoming just the sixth movie to gross $2B globally at the box office, as well as blazing past the MCU’s second-highest-grossing film in Avengers: Infinity War just a couple days ago.
Director James Cameron has more than one reason to celebrate as he is now the proud director of three of the top four movies globally of all-time: Avatar, Titanic, and Avatar: The Way of Water.
Director James Cameron can finally breathe a sigh of relief as he notably quoted that his long-awaited Avatar sequel would “…have to be the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history,” Cameron said about turning a profit on the movie. “That’s your threshold. That’s your break even.”
So he has more reasons to smile and positively look forward to the remaining parts of the franchise.
